Spanish and French Immersion Program in Atlanta
June 17, 2004 -- Tabula Rasa, School of Foreign Languages is accepting registrations for the August 2004 Immersion Program for children in French and Spanish. We are looking into including Italian lessons as well.
Tabula Rasa successfully offers a Mother's Morning Out/ Preschool program for children 6 months to 5 years old and an after-school foreign language program for older children.
Tabula Rasa School has more than five years offering Foreign Language Classes and services to adults in the Atlanta Metro Area. The Mother's Morning Program in Foreign Languages started based on the request of the parents for a foreign language program for their children. With this exciting program Tabula Rasa would like to support families who are trying to raise bilingual children.
The method is total immersion, because when second language instruction is integrated with the daily activities, it is more effective than teaching the language in isolation. Furthermore there is a strong relationship between language and other aspects of human development. Language, cognition, and social awareness will develop concurrently in young children.
Times and Program:
Mother's Morning Out: For children 6 months to 2 years old, three hours daily (9am-12pm). Parents can choose Weekdays or Saturday mornings for their children. The ratio Teacher/Children is 1:4.
Preschool Program: For children 2 years to 5 years old, four hours daily (9am to 1pm). Parents can choose Weekdays or Saturday mornings for their children. The ration Teacher/Children is 1:6.
One-Hour Fun Program
Offered for ages 6-15 years old. Classes meet weekdays for 1 hour (4-5pm), twice per week or Saturdays for two hours. Tuition: $100 per month. Registration Fee: $50.
